Meet Louie

I wasn't even looking to adopt a dog when Louie came into my life, and now I can't imagine it without him. He has been my one constant through a stretch of enormous change. My soul dog, my actual child, my shadow, and you can't tell me otherwise. He taught me to slow down, to always say hi, and to always be looking forward to the next adventure.

Golden hour He comes along for everything.
The basics:
Louie is a four year old merle French bulldog. He's thirty-five pounds of pure happiness. He's never been trained, but somehow he is still perfect. He does not even know how to bark.
How he got here:
Adopted from Colombia, two months after I graduated college. He adapts faster than I do, and eight moves later he still walks in like every new apartment has always been his.
You can find him:
Along for every excursion, car ride and vacation. Head out the window the whole way, taking in the view like he paid for it. Making a best friend of every person and dog who never asked for one, and never more than a foot from anyone who is eating.
He has survived:
Cherry eye in both eyes, back surgery for ivdd, and eating more than one lightbulb. None of it seems to have registered.
Fun fact:
When he is mad at you he will hold eye contact and pee somewhere he is fully aware he is not supposed to. Petty, effective, and somehow still adorable.
